Reading Instructions

“DeepComix are designed to provide a unique user experience that does not get in the way between the reader and the story.”

One of the key features of DeepComix™ is that you can move your point of view inside the comics.

Rotate the camera.

Let’s get the obvious out of the way: as soon as you hold a DeepComix in your hands, you will notice that simply rotating the device will rotate the point of view inside the comic’s world.
This is already a revolutionary experience, but there is a lot more you can do.
Just remember, using all the functionality of a DeepComix is as easy as one, two, three!

One finger.

Move between panels.

First of all you use one finger to move between the different panels of your comic. Just swipe your finger along the bottom of the screen to move to the next or previous panels. It works just like you would expect, but we suggest you take your time and swipe slowly to admire the unique cinematic transitions between panels.

Hide balloons.

Swiping your finger along the top of the screen hides and reveals any balloons in your panel. Just swipe your finger left to right on the top half of the screen to hide them and swipe left to right to bring them back.

Reset your point of view.

Just double tap anywhere on the screen to reset your point of view.

Two fingers.

Move inside the comic.

Use two fingers on the screen to enter the comic! Drag them up/down, left/right to move the point of view in these directions. Spread them apart to move into the panel or bring them closer together to move the point of view out of the screen. You can seamlessly combine all these movements to move the point of view as you like.
Remember that at any time you can double tap with one finger to reset the point of view.

Three fingers.

3 fingers for 3D stereo, easy.

DeepComix directly support 3D stereo so it could not be easier to get your the stories pop out of the screen.  If you have a pair of red/blue glasses you can enjoy the comics in stereo 3D turning on/off the 3D stereo effect simply tapping the screen with three fingers.

Other settings.

Language, stereo options and more.

Go to the app settings from your device General Settings app, to find additional options.

DeepComix support multiple languages. Choose one from the list of supported languages from the settings page.

StereoScale. Everybody has different sensitivities when it comes to 3D Stereo. Feel free to adjust the Stereo Scale slider to set the stereo effect to a value that is confortable for you.

Note. Please be aware that the accelerometer in older devices such as the iPhone 3Gs or first generation iPad  is not providing rotation information when the device screen is perfectly vertical. For a more rewarding user experience we recommend that you hold your device so that the screen is slightly tilted forward. More recent models such as iPhone 4, 4S or iPad 2 and 3 include a gyroscope sensor and do not suffer from this limitation.
